Largest car rental company in Europe is planning to shut down in March 2019, says head of franchisee empire
The biggest car rental and leasing company in the world will close in March 2018, according to head of franchised franchisees empire, Alexander Pomerance.
In a statement released to the press on Wednesday, Pomerances company empire said it was closing down in 2019 in order to focus on its own businesses.
“In 2019 we are shutting down and we will focus on our businesses, which include the LargaCAR rental network,” the statement read.
“This is a very important decision for our franchisees and customers.
We have a great reputation in the UK and the company is a leader in car rental.”
The company is also closing down on March 6, 2019, the day it was created, for a new, smaller franchise.
Pomerance said that it was also closing its CarShare and CarShare Plus services, as well as its online and mobile operations.
“We are in the final stages of evaluating our business and the decision will be made by the end of the year,” he said.
“As we continue to work to strengthen our business, we will be releasing further information as soon as it is available. “
